UK MUSIC: ROUGH DIAMONDZ – ‘DO IT LIKE ME’

Ruff Diamondz are London-based trio — vocalists Troy (20), Martika (18) and MC Chronz (19). First off group member Martika looks a bit like Aaliyah (Rest In Peace). They sampled the classic Dead Prez track Bigger Than Hip Hop, so Do It Like Me sounds really good, however they should have left out the rapping. The video along with their image/style is very American (late 90s / early 2000s Hip Hop/R&B). Via Brown Eyez Your thoughts please. Hit or Miss?

UK MUSIC: NADINE CHARLES – YOU ARE THE ONE

You Are The One is the debut single from singer Nadine Charles, taken from the EP Introducing Miss Charles. You Are The One has got that old skool 80s Soul vibe going on. I love it! And the same goes for the video, which also features singer Kele LeRoc. Your thoughts please. Hit or Miss?

NEW MUSIC: ‘SO APPALLED’ FEATURING KANYE, RZA, JAY-Z, PUSTA T, SWIZZ BEATZ AND CYHI THE PRYNCE

People were losing there minds over So Appalled after it hit the net last night. The track featuring rappers that I know and one I’ve never heard of before (Cyhi The Prynce) left me scratching my head. I was confused. Sorry but am I missing something here? What is so great about this track??? Also this line “champagne wishes, thirty white bitches” is a highly inappropriate line to spit.  Imagine the the backlash and fall out (and rightfully so) if a white []

UK MUSIC: JMC FT SIZZLA – PLOT

Rapper JMC teams up with reggae star Sizzla on his new single Plot (scheduled digital release October 25th). I listened to Plot this morning and I really like the beat.  However I strongly object to them ruining Sizzla’s vocals with the use of auto tune.  That was so unnecessary. The video –  There is nothing particularly outstanding about this promo, but I see some of it was filmed in my parents homeland so I’ll give it the thumbs up just for that. 😀  Your thoughts please. Hit or Miss?

UK MUSIC: RIAN PETERS – STEREOTYPES

Rian Peters is a singer and songwriter from South London, and this is his new single Stereotypes. I hate to say this but Jason Derulo crossed my mind while I watched this video. But the song isn’t bad. Your thoughts please. Hit or Miss?

UK MUSIC: N-DUBZ – BEST BEHAVIOUR

N-Dubz’s new single Best Behaviour will be released on the 17th October. Def Jam executives are probably hoping that this track will successfully break the group in to the US market. I personally don’t see that happening, but it will be a huge hit here. The video – Yeah the label spent some money. Your thoughts please. Hit or Miss?

UK MUSIC: HARVEY FT CASH JAMES – ‘ESCAPE’

So Solid’s MC Harvey is back with the new single ‘Escape’ featuring Cash James. Via Brown Eyez Okay… the beat isn’t bad but the lyrics are WEAK ( who was still bussin the running man in  ’95’???) and Cash James’ vocals just don’t sit well on the track. Harvey it seems is also the latest UK “Urban” soul to jump on the rap electro bandwagon…. Your thoughts please. Hit or Miss?

NEW MUSIC: WILLOW SMITH – ‘WHIP MY HAIR’

Source Willow Smith has very famous parents. For those who don’t know her parents are Will Smith and Jada Pinkett.  9 year old Willow is clearly being groomed for musical superstardom. The choice of clothing, adult hairstyle, public appearances and photoshoot in Paris all make sense now. Anyway check out Willow’s debut single Whip My Hair.  LISTEN Young girls (6-10 year olds) will LOVE this track. It’s cute and catchy. Your thoughts please. Hit or Miss?
