Sad news folks… it has been announced that Tim Westwood will be leaving BBC Radio (Radio 1 and 1xtra) after almost 20 years service. Via BBC Newsbeat DJ Tim Westwood is leaving BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra as part of a schedule update. His Saturday night show, which is currently broadcast simultaneously on Radio 1 and 1Xtra at 9pm, is being cut. First he loses his BBC 1xtra weekday show to the “people’s prince” Charlie Sloth and now Tim Westwood has to endure the wrath of Iranian born rapper (who grew up in Margate) MIC Righteous in this scathing diss record titled ‘Sack City’. The track also features audio from an interview Tim did with Hip Hop legend KRS-One. Last week it was announced that BBC Radio’s resident Hip Hop DJ Tim Westwood (54) will no longer be hosting his weekday BBC 1xtra show after September and is to be replaced by DJ Charlie Sloth. The new fresh and acceptable face of  all things “URBAN” over at BBC Radio towers .
