Last night ‘the big dawg’ Tim Westwood said a sad farewell to BBC Radio after 20 years service and this morning it was officially announced that he will now be joining London’s number 1 “URBAN” station Choice FM.
Starting next weekend, every Saturday from 9pm to 11pm, Tim will be playing the very best hip hop, from the latest cuts to massive anthems, to Choice FM’s 808,000 weekly listeners.
“I got my big break courtesy of Richard Park. He gave me my first job at Capital FM. So, right now, this is not the end of an era – it’s another chapter. It’s an exciting chapter. I’m moving to Choice FM which is a station I want to be part of and it’s a natural home for me. I’m back with Richard Park. He’s hired me again. Much love to Richard. I couldn’t do this without you. So, from next Saturday at 9-11pm I’ll be on Choice FM blasting off crazy in London.”
Hahahahahahahaha – I KNEW IT. I just knew Choice FM was going to be his new home.
After BBC Radio handed him his P45 Westwood was not going to be left out in the radio wilderness for long.
Give it another year or so and it will probably be announced that Tim will also take over the coveted Morning Breakfast Show and every other coveted show/ time slot on the station.
This is going to be interesting….
*drops bombs Westwood style*
So what happens to DJ 279 ? Will there be two Hip Hop shows on Saturday nights?
