Rapper Jim Jones is stepping back in to the corporate music world by becoming Vice President of A&R at Koch Records. Jim previously served as President of A&R at Warner Music but was later relieved of his duties due to poor performance. But don’t watch that! My Jim Jim has been given a second chance and this time I know he will flourish in this new role. Jim said in a released statement: “It feels good to know that the hard work […]
This news story was brought to my attention two days ago, but I held off from watching the video footage. I could not face it up until now. 22 year old Oscar Grant III was shot dead by Oakland police on New Years Day in California, while laying face down and handcuffed on a train platform. Details leading up to his arrest and subsequent MURDER are still sketchy. However Grant, unarmed, was cooperating with officers before his death…. Johannes Mehserle, the police officer responsible for Grant’s death has since resigned and […]

We are fast approaching 2009, but before we say farewell to 2008, I want to know who in your opinion was the most ANNOYING female act of 2008! The winner (most annoying female) will be announced and presented with an M&S £20.00 gift card in January 09….
UK MUSIC: THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY Ghetts (formally known as ‘Ghetto’) features on this single a long side Griminal. ‘Don’t Phone Me’ makes me laugh and the sound of Ghetts voice takes some getting used to….. The production isn’t bad…..hmmmmm…. well I’ve heard worse……… I wouldn’t say this is good, and I wouldn’t say it’s bad or ugly. It’s just a funny track that I would describe as being… so so…. The 11 – 16 year old demographic will love this! Your thoughts […]
Check out Beyonce’s official video for the single ‘Diva’. I love the track but HATE the video! And up next ‘Halo’ starring Michael Ealy. I like this track but not too keen on the video. Your thoughts please……
Earlier this week, A.C. Thompson of The Nation revealed that after Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans in 2005, white vigilante groups patrolled the city, blockaded streets, and shot at least eleven black men. Color of Change plans on organising a campaign to force Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, and state officials to investigate the shootings, because “Louisiana’s broken law enforcement agencies have refused to investigate these crimes.” I can believe this happened. It will be interesting to see what happens next, now that this story is all over the […]
Popular video model/glamour Angel Lola Luv has got it in to her pretty little head, that she has what it takes to become a female rap superstar. Check out the “masterpiece” that is ‘Boss Bitch’. 50 Cent has co-signed Angel’s musical aspirations and can be heard mentoring the model late in to the night…. Your thoughts please….
UK rapper Sway teams up with Akon on his new single ‘Silver & Gold’, which is about a cold, manipulative, money hungry stripper. I admit ‘Silver & Gold is (kind of) catchy (well the hook is) but it’s strange hearing Sway rap on a track of this nature, and watching him attempt to look suave and sexy in the middle of a nightclub surrounded by attractive women. It’s just strange… it’s just not really him…. This sort of visual scenerio, along with the track’s lyrical content tends to work better when a rapper has […]
Remember the UK’s Lady Sovereign who 2/3 years ago was being touted as the next big thing to come from this side of the pond? She signed to Universal/Def Jam and expectations were high when she dropped her debut album ‘Public Warning’. Then as predicted it all turned sour and she disappeared off the scene. But now she is back with the single ‘I Got You Dancing’, and is set to drop her sophomore album ‘Jigsaw’ soon. I can’t wait….. Your thoughts please…..
