Via The Guardian News International said today that it planned to close its afternoon freesheet, the London Paper. The paper will continue publishing for about a month while News International consults with 60 staff members. It is understood that the London Paper’s final day of publication is likely to be Friday 18 September. The video to Jay-Z’s new single Run This Town featuring Rhianna and Kanye West premiered on MTV worldwide today. I just watched the video and the amount of hype being generated by Jay’s label and MTV leading up to the premiere was in my humble opinion – UNNECESSARY! Run This Town isn’t particularly spectacular and the warrior/Armageddon theme that runs through the video isn’t exactly original. So why all the fuss, anticipation and countless teasers? Via BBC News New world 800m champion Caster Semenya has been asked to take a gender test, according to athletics’ governing body. The International Association of Athletics Federations says it demanded the test three weeks ago amid fears she should not be able to run as a woman. IAAF spokesman Nick Davies said the “extremely complex, difficult” test results were not due for several weeks. Kerry Katona has been dropped as the face of supermarket chain Iceland following allegations that she took cocaine. The News Of The World published photographs and video footage of the 28-year-old mother allegedly showing her snorting the class A drug in her home in Wilmslow, Cheshire.
