I had a feeling that the brutal sacking of long time Choice employee DJ 279 (also known as Numbers) and the hiring of Tim Westwood was just the beginning.
The word on the streets is that they plan on changing the station’s name to ‘Capital Extra’.
Hmmmm…..
If the rumours are in fact true then I look forward to reading the official press release from owners Global Radio.

Not surprised ah backside! I am surprised Choice lasted this long in its ‘black’ format. Very sad news if this true. From they almost wiped out their reggae programming, that was the sign. This is the message for black people, we need to do our own thing!
Black people and artists will start looking for the next station that embraces them.
…and then when that station has milked us dry of our flavour, co-opted our creativity and put themselves on the road to corporate money, that embrace will turn into a shove.
