LAURYN HILL PLEADS GUILTY TO TAX EVASION, FACES 3 YEAR PRISON TERM

Singer Lauryn Hill admitted in court today that she failed to file three years of taxes on income of $1.8 million. The star now faces a 3 year prison term and $75,000 in fines and will be sentenced in late November. UK NEWS: 15 YEAR OLD ETHIOPIAN OLYMPIC TORCHBEARER GOES MISSING

Via BBC News An Ethiopian teenager who was part of the Olympic torch relay has gone missing from a hotel in Nottingham. Natnael Yemane, 15, was a torchbearer as part of an official international programme team as the relay entered the city on Thursday. Police said he left the Jurys Inn, Waterfront Plaza, at about 21:15 BST and did not return. Officers added they were concerned for his well being as his English is limited and he is not “street-wise”. The teenager []

R.KELLY CANCELS PROMOTIONAL APPEARANCES DUE TO THROAT COMPLICATIONS

Black Voices reports that R.Kelly has cancelled promotional appearances for his new album (Write Me Back) and memoir (Soulacoaster: The Diary of Me) because of throat complications. The singer had surgery last year to treat an abscess on his vocal cords. Kelly’s publicist said in a statement that ‘he was on his way to New York on Wednesday morning when he became ill and returned to Chicago for medical treatment’. … Oh dear this doesn’t sound good.

ITALIAN NEWSPAPER DEPICTS FOOTBALLER MARIO BALOTELLI AS KING KONG IN OFFENSIVE CARTOON

An Italian newspaper thought it would be HILARIOUS to depict footballer Mario Balotelli as the giant black menacing ape King Kong mounting Big Ben in the cartoon above. La Gazzetta dello Sport  decided to feature the cartoon in the run up to the Euro 2012 Italy v England game which took place on Sunday.
