It was announced yesterday that rapper Lethal B (real name Maxwell Ansah) has launched his own music label Stay Dench Records and has entered in to partnership with Absolute Marketing & Distribution for label services and physical/digital distribution.
When asked about the partnership Lethal told Music Week
“Our combined efforts so far for the BBC Match Of The Day England Vs Sweden single – produced by Doneao – between Stay Dench and Absolute has been wicked. To have my own platform where I can release fresh music is a great look for me.”
This man is NO FOOL. He is educated and has a good business brain, but it infuriates me when I see him and other young black men like himself publicly dumbing down their intelligence so they can appeal to a younger audience and for the sake of fitting in.
No way am I saying that Lethal should be serious and thought-provoking every time he appears but lay off from playing the court jester at every given opportunity.
Show the world the behind the scenes Lethal B who sits in important business meetings with the suits and doesn’t scream the word “DENCH” every two seconds and talks like a seventeen year old road man.
Anyway congratulations Lethal. Wishing you the best of luck with Stay Dench Records.
