Source I have been watching actor/’comedian’ James Corden’s new World Cup Live show (TFI Friday rip off) on ITV 1 and ITV 4 since the tournament kicked off in South Africa on June 11th, and it is quite entertaining. Via Digital Spy ITV has fired pundit Robbie Earle over the distribution of his family and friends World Cup tickets. Following an investigation by the broadcaster, the former footballer – who has worked with ITV1 since 2001 – was found to have passed his ticket allocation to a third party. Via BBC News England captain Rio Ferdinand has been ruled out of the World Cup after suffering a knee injury in training. The 31-year-old centre-back had a scan after hurting his left knee following a challenge with Emile Heskey during Friday’s first training session. Well the 2010 World Cup is fast approaching, and next week promotion/marketing of the event which will take place in South Africa will go in to full effect. Check out the brand new England 2010 World Cup commercial from Carlsberg, featuring various sporting greats from the past. I would love for England to bring home the World Cup but when I look at the England squad, I just don’t see it happening.

[Thanks Richard] Via BBC News Macclesfield Town have announced that manager Keith Alexander has died at the age of 53. Alexander, who suffered a brain aneurysm in November 2003, passed away after arriving home last night from the League Two match at Notts County. Singer Jameila has announced today that she is to divorce her footballer husband Darren Byfield. Statement via Digital Spy: “It is with regret that Jamelia and Darren Byfield today confirm they are splitting up and getting a divorce. “No one else is involved.
