The BBC Radio Hackney Weekend music festival took place this past weekend and judging from the feedback it was a huge success. I didn’t attend but watched some of the performances on BBC 3. WARNER MUSIC GROUP TO BE SOLD FOR 1.8 BILLION

  NME Magazine reports today that the Warner Music Group will be sold for £1.8 billion within a matter of days. The group includes the imprints Atlantic Records, Reprise Records and EastWest Records as well as many others. It will reportedly be bought by either the Gores brothers, who own a series of powerful media and communications companies, or by Russian tycoon Len Blavatnik. The 2011 Brit Awards ended a couple of hours ago at London’s O2 Arena. The event, hosted by actor James Corden thankfully wasn’t a long drawn out affair and the two hours flew by.
