Via BBC News EastEnders is to air the first episode featuring an entirely black cast for the first time in its 23-year history. Tonight’s programme will focus entirely on characters Patrick Trueman, Denise Wicks, fiance Lucas, and her daughters Chelsea and Libby. Patrick reminisces about London in the 1950s after his arrival from the Caribbean in the episode. The action will be set chiefly in his house, which is also the home of the other characters. The family discuss history around the […]

Two weeks ago I happened to catch a glimpse of morning breakfast show ‘GMTV’, and spotted a ‘colourful’ blast from the past. 56 year old fitness guru Mr Motivator (real name Derrick Evans). At first I thought GMTV had gone back in time to 1993 when Mr Motivator worked hard to get Britain fit in his ultra bright, tight, lycra outfits. But no! The Motivator has returned to GMTV after leaving the show 8 years ago, and he is still wearing the […]

It’s the end of an era…… Via BBC News TV channel Five has confirmed that talk show host Trisha Goddard’s morning show will be dropped later in the year. The programme will close at the end of its current run, with the channel blaming the current economic climate for the “difficult decision”. Goddard, 51, has been with Five for four years, after making her name in the UK with a similar show on ITV1. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in March […]

In the latest ‘Talk To Frank’ anti drugs campaign commercial the focus is now on cocaine. I like the ‘Talk To Frank’ commericials because of the unique/satirical way in which they approach the dark subject matter of drug addiction. I know I shoudn’t but everytime this commercial airs I cannot help but laugh. Comedian/actor David Mitchell’s (the voice of Pablo the drug mule dog) sarcastic tone kills me everytime. So wrong….. LMAO!

Celebrity Big Brother 2009 will launch his week (Friday) and thankfully the rumour that Whitney Houston would appear on the show where Z-list celebrities/non entities go to lay the remains of their once illustrious careers to rest for good was just that – a rumour. Anyway the ‘celebs’ who will enter the BB House on Friday are as follows….. Former Sugababes group member Mutya Buena. I guess abruptly leaving a successful group and going solo wasn’t the best move for old Mutya…. 90s rap […]

Beyonce and Alexandra “It was so amazing to be with Beyonce – she was such an inspiration and I just thought, ‘I want to be as big as you’. “We are going to be great friends. Backstage she turned to me and said, ‘I feel like I have known you for ages. We can be friends’. “I asked her if I could support her on tour ans she said yes, so we’re trying to make it happen”. (The London Paper) Alright Alexandra cool […]

The X-Factor semi-finals aired live last night and contestants Alexandra Burke, Eoghan Quigg and boy band JLS will battle it out for the coveted X Factor title. I really don’t understand why JLS is still in the running to win the title. I think that as a group they sound appalling! Why does Simon Cowell, who is usually spot on, keep giving them a pass??? He must be getting soft in his old age. Check out their cover of Rihanna’s smash hit ‘Umbrella’ on last night’s show. Cheesy…….. […]

If you happen to be UK based and at home tonight then watch the documentary ‘High Society’s Favourite Gigolo’, which will take an in depth look at the meteoric rise and fall of Britain’s first black superstar, Leslie ‘Hutch’ Hutchinson. Up until this point I’d never heard of Leslie Hutchinson. Hmmmmmmm I wonder why???? Via The London Paper He was our highest-paid performer, a singer, pianist and actor whose suave good looks guaranteed invites to the top parties – not to mention the fact he was a wartime entertainer […]
