Last week it was reported that Britain’s leading black newspaper The Voice had been denied press accreditation to cover the 2012 Olympic games (Click here to read if you missed it).
But following an online petition, extensive media coverage and a show of unity The Voice have now been granted press accreditation from the British Olympics Association (BOA) to cover the 2012 games inside the Olympic stadium.
In a statement the BOA said:
“We are pleased to confirm that the IOC have awarded an accreditation to the BOA, which will be allocated to The Voice.”
In response to the tremendous show of support The Voice team said:
A big thank you to all those who signed the petition, lobbied on our behalf and to the journalists who recognised the need for us to be there.
…
It’s amazing what can be achieved when we unite and work together. Well done to everyone who stood up, got involved and helped to make this happen.

I am really happy!!!!
Take note Ferdinand, Cole and others … this is what happened when we are united.
Just the fact they have now been granted press accreditation into the Olympic stadium,
shows how unfair the decision was in the first place.
Unity is Strength!!!
great work Janice and everyone who signed
Vey happy about this. For real Unity is strength
About time we took a stand for something worthwhile!
Part of me is thinking why are we bredding Babylon but the other part which is the majority is happy for this outcome. I don’t know what stunts these olympic association jokers thought that they were pulling by refusing the Voice access but they were very wise to see sense and reverse this decision. Yep, this is more like it. We need to seriously take note that unity really does equal strength.
‘bredding babylon’…lol you couldn’t help it Verbs
Lol, I had to slip it in somewhere.
