It has been reported that singer R.Kelly (real name Robert Kelly) owes millions in unpaid taxes. It is claimed that Kelly owes almost 5 million dollars to the IRS (Internal Revenue Service).
Record show he paid 2.6 million dollars in back taxes in 2008 and another one million dollars last year, but still owes the federal government more than 4.8 million dollars.
Last year the star was forced to sell his mansion in Chicago (that he built) because of unpaid mortgage payments, but his spokesperson refuted claims that he was struggling financially.
Since Kelly was acquitted of child pornography charges his career has suffered some what. I don’t think he generates as much money as he used to, which explains him getting over his fear of flying (because no one is going to pay for him to travel overseas by ship now), and performing everywhere and anywhere.
