Elle Magazine (France) is in trouble after one of their fashion bloggers posted an article on the magazine’s website implying that President Obama and his wife Michelle Obama are the first fashionable African-Americans.
Blogger Nathalie Dolivo who can only be described as an ignorant little idiot believes that the Obamas have been influential in helping to improve the black race’s sense of style.
She wrote,
“For the first time, the chic has become a plausible option for a community so far pegged [only] to its street wear codes.”
“But if in 2012 the “black-geoisie” has integrated all the white codes [of fashion], they [do so not] literally. [There] is always a classic twist, with a bourgeois ethnic reference (a batik-printed turban/robe, a shell necklace, a ‘creole de rappeur’) reminiscent [of] the roots. It [has] shifted, [it is] new, desirable, powerful.”
Oh dear…The not so subtle racist shots just keep on coming folks!
So according to Nathalie before the Obamas came along black people had no fashion sense and wore tracksuits and trainers for hundreds of years right up until the President and the First Lady moved in to the White House.
And can somebody please tell me what “black-geoisie” means????? And what are “white codes of fashion?”
All I can do right now is just laugh at Nathalie Dolivo’s blatant stupidity.

I don’t even know at what point we became “blacks” instead of the regular “noir”. This label has gone mainstream and it sounds like the N word . Being a teen in the late 90s I remember being called “homme de couleur” , a couple of years later I became “le noir” . These days I hear ” Les blacks” everywhere. Blackgeoisie WTF !!!!

When people want to make money off your image, they come up with all sorts to make you feel better after looking down on you and ignoring you for so long.
I am seething with anger at Natalie Dolivio’s comments about Black people not having a clue about fashion until the arrival of the Obamas in the White House! Where have you and your ilk been Natalie over the years when black people started moving up in the social and economic stratum of society both in Europe and America? Yes, they wore track suits and trainers when they did menial blue collar jobs! In the decades since the 80s Black people have studied hard encouraged by that generation of parents to break through their social deprivation barrier and you would find them in most spheres of white collar work – NOT IN TRAINERS AND TRACKSUITS! – The Obama family just happen to be high profile people who have driven this point home that Black people are trendy and have very good dress sense!
Perhaps Natalie should be forgiven everyone because she only reflects the attitudes and ideas of Italians generally, and I mean generally apart from the few who are more aware due to extensive travelling and mixing (I do have Italian friends). A friend who is African and has an Italian boyfriend keeps regailing me with how his boyfriend’s Italian mum always asks her son why he can’t find a nice Italian instead of a SUB-HUMAN like him!!! At the height of the Haiti catastrophe she comments : “How can anybody look at these people as humans? Just look at them” in reference to images on telly.
Another instance is where on the beach my friend became a spectacle to watch only there were no gate fees!!! So, my dear readers, this in a nutshell sums of Italians and their ignorance let alone their racial hatred!
