UK NEWS: FOOTBALLER JOHN TERRY WINS BID TO HAVE DINNER WITH BOY BAND JLS (WHAT A FARCE)

Desperate to prove to the world that he is not racist Chelsea skipper and England’s former captain John Terry apparently bid and paid £16,000 for a dinner with boy band JLS at a charity bash last night. The event was held to raise money for the Help For Heroes and Cancer Research charities at The Brewery in London. UK NEWS: JAMES MURDOCH TO STEP DOWN AS NEWS INTERNATIONAL CHAIRMAN

Via Digital Spy James Murdoch is to step down as executive chairman of News International newspapers in the UK, it has been announced. News Corporation confirmed this afternoon that Murdoch, the son of Rupert Murdoch, will no longer chair the board at the group that includes companies publishing The Times, The Sunday Times and The Sun. VIDEO: TIM WESTWOOD FREE “RAVE” – CONTESTANTS ENTER DANCE COMPETITION (NO WORDS…..)

Over the weekend Tim “Big Dawg” Westwood hosted a FREE “rave” at the O2 Arena. Photographs of the event were then posted on Facebook and then promptly removed by Westwood because they created such a stir. Our Jump Off debaters got together to discuss two different art forms. The art of writing lyrics versus freestyling. How has the definition of freestyling evolved over time? UK NEWS: PLAQUE HONOUR FOR ‘FIRST BLACK STAR’ ELISABETH WELCH

The BBC reports that the singer Elisabeth Welch is to be commemorated with an English Heritage blue plaque in south-west London. Welch is the second black woman to be honoured with a blue plaque in London (who was the first?) The plaque will be unveiled in Ovington Court, Kensington, which was her home during the 1930s when she rose to fame on the cabaret circuit. The performer died aged 99 in 2003 and has been described as “Britain’s first black star”. Welch was born []
