UK NEWS: BLOGGERS AND TWITTER FACE POLICE VISITS

People who blog and tweet in defiance of court orders could face prosecution and “severe sanctions”, with police already warning some people about their online actions, the government’s most senior law officer has warned.

Attorney General Dominic Grieve said material posted on blogs and Twitter had the potential to “go viral” and “suddenly start to spread around the world in an astonishingly fast speed”.

He said individuals who decided to tweet or to blog in defiance of court orders “had better beware”. “One day somebody is going to end up being prosecuted and discover to their consternation that in fact there are some quite severe sanctions which can be visited upon on them for what they have done.” Continue Reading…..

  1. Where were they when the likes of the Murdochs were up to mischief? People are taking to twitter and blogs partly because most media outlets do not cater for them in the first place.
