The Mobo (Music of Black Origin) Awards will host it’s annual event in Glasgow, Scotland this year.
Up until now the MOBO Awards has always been hosted in London.
The MOBO Awards 2009 will take place in Glasgow on September 30, organisers have confirmed.
It is the first time the event, which was established in 1995 and celebrates music of black origin, has been staged outside of London.
“We are delighted to be able to announce that the MOBO music awards show for 2009 will take place in Glasgow,” founder Kanya King MBE said.
“Throughout MOBO’s history we have prided ourselves on finding innovative ways to bring MOBO music and stellar artist performances to our audience and this year we are making another unprecedented move by bringing the awards to Scotland.”
Interesting move. I guess change is good.

Glasgow and the Mobo’s is a very very interesting choice. I have been to some hip-hip style events in Glasgow (Method Man – Red Man)..and they really do go off on one..in good ways and bad.
Still trying to figure out why MOBO is coming to glasgow. Hmmm.., 2 + 2 = 5
