UK NEWS: MOBO AWARDS CEO CONFIRMS ALL STAFF WILL BE PAID AFTER BECTU SINGLES OUT ORGANISATION

Several days ago media and entertainment union BECTU put MOBO Awards organisers on blast and urged them to pay ALL their staff. The appeal came in response to an advertisement for runners and ushers to work on the event which confirmed that no payment was being offered. The union believed that MOBO was signalling an intention to breach the national minimum wage regulations; the Act stipulates that all work should be paid at least at the level of the national minimum wage. []
