Today is International Woman’s Day, so in its honour the Metro Newspaper has compiled an online poll, in which singer Leona Lewis has been voted the most influential woman to live or work in London for the past 100 years. SOUTH LONDON ARTIST STYLER WINS MR HUDSON MC COMPETITION

Mercury recording artist Mr Hudson this afternoon announced on his twitter page that London rap artist Stylah has won the competition to feature on the UK edition of his new single Anyone But Him. The song, which features Kanye West on the original album version, is due for  release in May with Stylah guest featuring. UK NEWS: NORWAY WINS THE EUROVISION SONG CONTEST, BRITAIN COMES IN AT FIFTH PLACE

The cheesy and very camp annual Eurovision Song Contest took place last night in Russia’s capital, Moscow. Norway’s Alexander Rybak won and smashed the record on points awarded during the competition, while Britain’s Jade Ewen came in fifth. Jade’s song It’s My Time was written by Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber and he played the piano during her performance. NIGER EX-SLAVE WINS LANDMARK CASE

Ex-slave Hadijatou Mani A West African court has found Niger’s government guilty of failing to protect a woman from slavery in a landmark case for the region. The court found in favour of Hadijatou Mani, who says she was sold aged 12 and made to work for 10 years.
