UK NEWS: NORWAY WINS THE EUROVISION SONG CONTEST, BRITAIN COMES IN AT FIFTH PLACE

The cheesy and very camp annual Eurovision Song Contest took place last night in Russia’s capital, Moscow.

Norway’s Alexander Rybak won and smashed the record on points awarded during the competition, while Britain’s Jade Ewen came in fifth.

Jade’s song It’s My Time was written by Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber and he played the piano during her performance.

I thought her performance was really good (even though she went slightly off key towards the end), and had my fingers crossed, hoping that she would win.

The audience loved the song and the presence of Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber was bound to swing it for her, but sadly I was wrong.

Jade Ewen – It’s My Time (British Entry)

Alexander Rybak – Fairytale (Eurovision Winner 2009)

I don’t really understand why Norway won the competition. This was far from being the best song!

And lastly host country Russia’s Eurovision entry, which just sounded depressing (I want to run in to the bathroon to slit my wrists depressing) and the singer frightened me.

Anastasia Prikhodko – Mamo

Your thoughts please….

  1. Wrong song choice and title 4 uk. It earned her points yes, but alienating song. Ok why should it be uk time? And why is it that most countries show off some of their culture and tradition and uk doesn’t? Do they not have any? Graham norton was funny when he said tham malta brought their big gun but 4got to mention it with uk, hullo… Lol. the european female results presenters looked plastic, and whoever signed over the rap rights to other cultures 4got to emphasize that it should be done properly.

  2. Ohh, that russian song sounds like a sound track, to those documentaries they show about, poverty, diseases, and everything bad happening in the world.

She will need her father’s billions if that is how she is going to age. Not that it is bad to grow old.
