UK NEWS: METROPOLITIAN POLICE BLASTED FOR ALLOWING REGGAE STAR BOUNTY KILLER TO PERFORM IN LONDON

GAY rights activists have accused the Metropolitian police of supporting homophobia by allowing Jamaican reggae star Bounty Killer to perform in London. Bounty Killer, real name Rodney Pryce, has been allowed by the Met Police to play at the Stratford Rex on Saturday, even though some of his songs call for gay people to be murdered. Gay rights campaigner Peter Tatchell said the police were guilty of “double standards” by allowing the gig to go ahead. He said: “The Metropolitan Police are hypocrites. They allow homophobic []

2008 URBAN MUSIC AWARDS REVIEW

The O2 Arena (Greenwich, London) where the awards took place. This is what I’ve been waiting for….. Via Rwd Mag By now we’re sure you’ve all heard about the atrocity that was the Urban Music Awards 2008 involving a triple stabbing which saw one guest critically injured and two others seriously hurt. Counting last weekend’s Rock The Bells show with Nas, and the midweek Kanye performances this was our fourth visit to The O2 in the space of seven days, but it was []

UK RADIO NEWS: KISS FM RESHUFFLES SHOW SCHEDULES / BIG TED AND MANNY NORTE FIRED?

Big Ted Photograph: WireImage According to sources, bigwigs over at Kiss FM towers have decided to reshuffle the station’s show schedules and to clean house… it seems…. The fate of the station’s popular Hip Hop/Rap presenters: Shortee Blitz is safe, but it looks as if Big Ted and Manny Norte have been shown the door. If Big Ted and Manny Norte have been fired then I want to know why? They are both very popular radio personalities who have been a part of the Kiss FM line up for years.  What happened??? UK NEWS: HARRODS BOSS MOHAMMED AL FAYED QUESTIONED OVER ALLEGATIONS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT

From the moment Al Fayed decided to embark on a quest to prove that the establishment ( a world that at one point he badly wanted to be a part of) had murdered his son Dodi and Princess Diana, I knew that it was only going to be a matter of time before he would be made to pay…. PICS/LIVE RUN DOWN: MOBO AWARDS 2008 (WEMBLEY ARENA – LONDON)

I am sitting here watching the awards ceremony right now. So far…..  Mel B and Rev Run are doing a decent job of hosting the ceremony. They have good chemistry. John Legend opened the show. His performance was surprisingly weak and he was failing to hit the high notes. Estelle won Best UK Female. Congratulations! But her dress looked like it was designed by Tina Knowles and she has now developed an annoying transatlantic twang. Leona Lewis won Best Album (‘Spirit’). She wasn’t there to collect her []

QUOTE OF THE DAY: CHRISTINA AGUILERA

“I’m here to support all the good that comes out of Africa, rather than all the negative things we’re always  hearing about the country (The London Paper)”. (Christina talks about her then up and coming appearance at The Africa Rising Festival which took place at the Royal Albert Hall last night in London) Somebody really should of told Christina before she agreed to appear at this event that Africa is a CONTINENT, not a country……

VIDEO: M.I.A PERFORMING AT THE DIESEL 30TH ANNIVERSARY PARTY

The UK’s M.I.A performed at the Diesel 30th Anniversary party that took place in Brooklyn this past weekend. T.I and N.E.R.D also performed. I really don’t know how M.I.A gets away with it, I really don’t! Her music is absolute shite yet for some reason the industry’s embraced her wholeheartedly and people (particularly Stateside) continue to lap up her unique brand of garbage.   The “singer/rapper” tied the knot very suddenly several months ago ( to the  son of Warner Music Group’s CEO, Edgar Bronfman, Jr), and []

LONDON CLUBS CAN’T AFFORD JAY-Z DURING CREDIT CRUNCH

Via The London Paper Jay-Z is finding the credit crunch is hamperiing his London party plans. The hip-hop superstar has found no club willing to stump up his appearance fee. Even though that figure has now gone down to £7,500, no clubs are interested. A club source told theBuzz: []
