Several weeks ago I posted the news that Eastenders: E20 actress Bunmi Mojekwu had been the only cast member not chosen to make the transition from the online drama, to the main BBC 1 drama Eastenders. Eastenders online spin off Eastenders: E20 is currently being screened online throughout January, and the only cast member who hasn’t made the transition from the online spinoff to the main BBC 1 soap is surprise surprise, actress Bunmi Mojekwu. Eastenders star Diane Parish has become the first black actor in the UK to win a major Royal Television Society Award. Continue Reading….. Yes this historical win has finally happened in June 2009! After years of being ignored they have finally awarded a black actor this prestigious award in 2009, when most have now given up on this country, fed up with being treated as if they don’t exist and moved on to enjoy the sweet smell of success Stateside! I thought old Mohammed here beat his then girlfriend/the mother of his daughter with a belt in the street! That was what online reports suggested at the time. Anyway…. Via BBC News EastEnders is to air the first episode featuring an entirely black cast for the first time in its 23-year history. Tonight’s programme will focus entirely on characters Patrick Trueman, Denise Wicks, fiance Lucas, and her daughters Chelsea and Libby.
