UK TV NEWS: EASTENDERS AXES CHUCKY VENN’S CHARACTER RAY DIXON

Digital Spy reports that actor Chucky Venn is going to leave hit BBC One soap Eastenders.  Venn’s character Ray Dixon will exit the show in  June. Venn joined the show back in early 2012. In a statement released to Digital Spy Venn commented: “Working on EastEnders has been one of my career  highlights and an invaluable experience. “I couldn’t have asked for a  better team to work with and have found a life-long friend in my on-screen  partner Tameka. UK TV: EASTENDERS CASTS NEW BLACK CHARACTER, ACTOR CORNELL S JOHN JOINS THE FOLD

BBC soap Eastenders has added actor Cornell S John to it’s fold.  John who starred in hit British films Kidulthood and Adulthood has been cast to play the father of youngster Dexter Hartman. UK TV: ‘EASTENDERS’ KIM FOX SPINOFF CONFIRMED

Tameka Empson is just going from strength to strength. Digital Spy reports that Empson’s ‘Eastenders’ character Kim Fox will feature in her own spinoff titled The B&B. The mini-episodes will take the style of a reality-documentary focusing on Kim’s B&B business and Empson has written the scripts for each episode herself. The B&B will launch on Friday, October 12 on the official EastEnders website. New episodes will go live each Friday from then, with the fourth and final edition released on November 2. … Love []

UK TV NEWS: NEW BRITISH-NIGERIAN CHARACTER SET TO JOIN EASTENDERS

Actress Modupe Adeyeye will make her debut on BBC soap Eastenders this coming Tuesday playing Faith Olubunmi, the younger sister of Merci Olubunmi (played by Bunmi Mojekwu) who was written out of the show earlier this year. The newcomer will also appear in EastEnders online spin-off E20. Congratulations Modupe – good luck. And let’s just hope there isn’t another random deportation storyline in the works. UK TV: EASTENDERS CONFIRMS MERCY’S DEPARTURE

Digital Spy reports that actress Bunmi Mojekwu who plays Mercy Olubunmi in the BBC 1 soap Eastenders, will be written out of the hit show later this year. EastEnders bosses have today confirmed that Mercy Olubunmi will be leaving Albert Square later this year. The Walford student, played by actress Bunmi Mojekwu, will bow out on-screen in the summer after a year as a regular cast member on the show.
