George Michael is a strange old bird…. Post the whole mens lavatory scandal back in 1997 and subsequently being forced out of the closet, George seems to have become obsessed with smoking illegal substances and cruising for sex on Hampstead Heath. He also seems to be leading a sad and lonely existence. But then again he might be happy now. He is just living his life and prehaps there is a sense of relief he doesn’t have to pretend anymore. Anyway in a recent interview with The Guardian, George tells Elton John to ‘shut his mouth’. […]
UK rapper Giggs has made it in to the 2010 BBC Sound of 2010 long list. Click here to view the other fourteen acts that have also made it on to the list. ………………………………………………………………………………… Well this is a surprise! I had no idea that the folks over at BBC towers were feelin Giggs lyricism/ flow like that. And to think MTV Base refused to play his music! This is a proud day for the ‘mans dem’ who spend their days standing outside Dixie Chicken in Peckham – in fact it’s a proud day for the entire […]
So not only is X-Factor judge/singer Cheryl Cole the “nations sweet heart”, a “national treasure”, alleged racist and convicted batterer of toilet attendants, she is also an R&B artist! Can somebody please tell me when this happened??? I must have been in a deep coma. Cheryl’s number 1 single Fight For This Love is featured on the recently released compilation album R&B Collection 2010 First BBC 1xtra wasted airtime playing her track (I am still baffled by that decision), then she was featured on the MOBO (Music […]
Rumour has it that rapper Busta Rhymes is in dire financial straits and will perform at any event that will have him. I was a huge Busta fan. I loved the fun, wild and animated Busta. But when he signed to Aftermath / teamed up with 50 Cent, cut off his hair, bulked up and began to favour a bull frog, became vicious, changed his style of music and went from being a leader to becoming a follower, his career just went downhill. And now this…. Via Rhymes With Snitch 500 ain’t bad if […]
Island Def Jam and the dark priestess must be REALLY desperate! It looks like the styling and profiling around the world, the 20/20 interview, and the new dark ‘risque’ image have all FLOPPED big time. The public simply isn’t interested. Insiders say that Rated R is set to shift only 160k units first week sales. When you consider the amount of money spent on the album’s promotion/marketing etc – that’s DIRE! NINETY-NINE CENTS!!!! Oh the shame! Click here for more information

Yes mogul Sean Combs has finally reached the big 40 and celebrities far and wide came out to bow down at the altar of the birthday boy last night (November 19th) in New York City. I bet the majority of people who turned up to help him celebrate secretly can’t even stand him. I’m serious! Anyway happy belated birthday Sean Combs! Photographs: Getty Images
Boyband JLS have topped the UK single chart for the second time with their new single Everybody In Love. Congratulations! I am not the biggest JLS fan and I have cussed them to Kingdom Come in the past, but I am actually really happy for them now. I never thought I would live to see the day when a black British boyband would take the charts by storm and generate such mass hysteria.
The ‘God MC’ Rakim will finally release his long-awaited new album Seventh Seal on the 23rd November. Guest artists featured on the album include Busta Rhymes, Jadakiss, Maino, Styles P, and Rakim’s daughter Destiny Griffin. I listened to the album last night and Rakim is still a master lyricist. In my humble opinion that will NEVER change. When I hear him rap it takes me back to a time when only the skilled and talented ruled the world of Hip Hop. Awww…those were the days….. The Seventh Seal is a good album and Rakim’s die hard […]
