BET recently unveiled their Top Ten rappers list of the 21st century, and we the public are expected to believe that some serious deliberation by a HIP HOP PANEL ( i.e. a bunch of jokers) took place before the list below was compiled. I can’t even take BET seriously. I can’t even be bothered to point out the rappers who should not be included on that list, and those who should have been included. It’s too obvious. 1 Eminem 2 Lil’ Wayne 3 Kanye West 4 50 Cent 5 T.I. […]

Rapper T.I (real name Clifford Harris) was sentenced to serve 11 months in prison today for drug possession. But I hear that his legal team plan on appealing the decision. Yeah good luck with that! *sarcasm* Before the judge announced his sentence Harris had this to say, I screwed up. I screwed up big time, and I’m sorry. I’m truly and sincerely sorry. I don’t want and I don’t need to use drugs anymore. I want them out of my life.” But […]
Yesterday rapper T.I was receiving praise for allegedly helping to stop an attempted suicide in Atlanta. Unfortunately once the news hit the Internet people immediately screamed “PUBLICITY STUNT” and are still screaming “PUBLICITY STUNT”. T.I has now responded to the non-believers. Via Necole Bitchie Via Vlad TV Yesterday, TI managed to get a suicide jumper to cancel his plans in exchange for a meeting with the platinum rapper. Soon after the incident, we got a call from a source who was at […]
It was announced today that producer/DJ Mark Ronson has now been added to the line up for the MOBO Awards 2010. Can somebody please tell me why the annoying, pretentious and over-rated Mark Ronson has been added to the line up? First the MOBO committee ignore the most successful UK “urban” act of 2010 Tinie Tempah and opt instead to draft in US rapper Nelly as the event’s headliner like we’re in the year 2002, and now this. All I can do is laugh. *I’ve been told that Nelly’s latest single Just A Dream has been certified platinum Stateside, but I am having […]
Via BBC News Grammy-award-winning singer Toni Braxton has filed for bankruptcy for the second time, her lawyer has said. The 43-year-old has revealed she is in millions of dollars worth of debt after a heart condition forced her to cancel a series of shows in Las Vegas. Debra Grassgreen said it had been a “very difficult decision” for Braxton to make, who previously filed for bankruptcy in 1998. The star is hoping sell some of her assets to pay for off her […]
Local authorities in Miami have created a banner (below) using two press photographs of the rapper Jay-Z (shot 10 years ago) in ‘report gang activity’ campaign. The images can also be viewed on their website. Via Rap Radar At present Shawn Carter aka Jay-Z gets on my last nerve (for a multitude reasons) BUT the Miami police department is wrong to use his image in this fashion. Plus isn’t this illegal??? I hope he sues their backsides.
My future play thing Nas isn’t very happy with his label bosses. Check out the email he ‘allegedly’ sent to Island Def Jam executives regarding the release of his new album Lost Tapes 2. Spotted @ Diary Of A Hollywood Street King From: Nas To: LA Reid, Steve Bartels, Steve Gawley, Michael Seltzer, Joseph Borrino, Chris Hicks Subject: PUT MY S**T OUT! Peace to all, With all due respect to you all, Nas is NOBODY’s slave. This is not the 1800′s, respect me and I will respect you. […]
Ruff Diamondz are London-based trio — vocalists Troy (20), Martika (18) and MC Chronz (19). First off group member Martika looks a bit like Aaliyah (Rest In Peace). They sampled the classic Dead Prez track Bigger Than Hip Hop, so Do It Like Me sounds really good, however they should have left out the rapping. The video along with their image/style is very American (late 90s / early 2000s Hip Hop/R&B). Via Brown Eyez Your thoughts please. Hit or Miss?
A Florida judge has declared a mistrial for the Jamaican reggae star Buju Banton, who was accused of conspiring to buy cocaine from an undercover police officer last year.
