Hmmm…….. Via The British Black List I get the feeling that ‘Made In Brixton’ will focus mainly on the upper middle class (wealthy) residents who have moved in to the area over the past 15 years and the area’s ‘regeneration’.

Annmarie Richards is a Jamaican woman who has raised 32 children, but not before she came from a broken home, in a struggling community herself. She experienced first-hand what it feels like to be a forgotten victim of Jamaica’s painful economic situation. She has since devoted her life to finding homeless children, raising them as her own, and giving them new opportunities. It’s her goal to take children off the streets and integrate them into school systems, giving them a foundation to […]
DEAR WHITE PEOPLE A satire about being a Black face in a white place. Click here to help bring this film to theaters: bit.ly/DWPYoTu Remember when Black movies didn’t neccesarily star a dude in a fat suit and a wig? Or have major plot twists timed to Gospel numbers for no apparent reason? No? Damn… Well believe it or not there was a time when “Black Art-House” was a thing. When movies like Do The Right Thing, Hollywood Shuffle, and Boyz In Da […]
Naomi Oni who was attacked with acid in 2012 has accused Scotland Yard of incompetence, saying police initially claimed she had poured it over herself. Naomi was left scarred for life after suffering serious burns on her face and chest in the incident. Mary Konye (a former friend) was found guilty of the attack and has been sentenced to 12 years in prison. Scotland Yard and their bulls**t antics never ceases to amaze me. Evil Mary Konye deserves to spend those 12 […]
‘The Big Questions’ debate on reparations aired on Sunday (March 23). This has to be the first time in living memory that a discussion of this nature has taken place on British television where a black person has brought up some uncomfortable truths and put forward their views without being constantly interrupted, shouted down and patronised. Well done to Esther Stanford -Xosei who presented a brilliant case for reparations and schooled the nation. Brilliant!
Via The Lala Report This documentary looks like it will be interesting if it is ever released. FINALLY there is a project that isn’t sucking up to the former waste man from Marcy Projects.
A 15-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of 15-year-old school girl Shereka Fab-Ann Marsh. Shereka was fatally shot in the neck on Saturday (March 22) at a house in Hackney Wick. The teen will appear today (March 24) at Stratford Magistrates Court. Two 16-year-old boys previously arrested on suspicion of her murder have been released without charge. … This news saddens and sickens me. I have so many questions…… Rest In Peace Shereka-Fab Ann Marsh.
