‘Where Do We Go From Here?’ will probably divide opinion for various reasons (e.g. footage of a few contributors should have ended up on the cutting room floor) but other than that I think Jaja has made an interesting and thought provoking documentary here for the younger generation.
For me the first 30 minutes of the documentary brought back memories of what it was like growing up black in the 1980s/1990s in South London and what was going on culturally and socially.
However Mad News reader Minx posed the question “Are any of these men in full-time employment?” and oddly enough that same question was running through my mind throughout the documentary. It seems the majority of the men featured in the documentary have their occupation down as ‘recording artist’, ‘CEO of ‘(insert name of community based foundation here) or ‘mentor’, but outside of these projects are they setting an example by showing some of today’s misguided youth that they are also now law abiding citizens who go out every morning and join the rest of Britain’s work force?
Your thoughts please….
