LOCOG has said it has reclaimed 3,000 tickets from officials who are unlikely to use them, and have sold them to the public today.
In its daily press conference, the 2012 Games organisers said they were approaching national Olympic committees on a “daily, session-by-session basis” in an attempt to ensure that more seats are filled.
It follows widespread reports of empty seats at Olympic venues, including some events that would have easily sold out had all the tickets been made available to the public.
The Prime Minister chaired a COBRA meeting with security and Olympic officials this morning, after which it was confirmed that empty seating was seen as one of the priority issues.
….
On the run up to the London games we were told that tickets were sold out. But it has now become clear that most of the tickets had been allocated to corporate sponsors and the ‘Olympic Family’ who just cannot be bothered to attend, hence all the empty seats.
Now today at 12.24pm a panicked LOCOG (who have drafted in soldiers to fill the empty seats) announce that they are going to sell 3000 tickets to the public for today’s events.
It is interesting they have chosen to make this announcement when most people are at work.
LOCOG and government officials responsible for this fiasco are a bunch of jokers.

I more shocked by the fact that corporate sponsors and the ‘Olympic Family’ had so many free tickets in the first place.
Anyway those Olympics are just a joke and so far the UK is no even preforming well.
I’ve got a few tickets.
Nearly got the 100m final this morning for a reasonable price.
I will be there by hook or by crook
