Kareem ‘Biggs’ Burke who co-founded Roc-A-Fella Records alongside Jay-Z and Damon Dash has been sentenced to five years in prison for conspiring to traffic more than 100 kilos of marijuana.
The NY Daily News reports that the once mighty Burke was snared in a federal drug sting called “Operation Green Venom,” which targeted a trafficking ring that controlled most of the wholesale marijuana market in New York City.Burke told Manhattan Federal Court Judge Loretta Swain that she would never see him again in court to which Swain replied, “Nothing personal, but I’m going to keep you to that promise”.

Oh dear…. well this isn’t good.
I remember seeing Kareem at a press conference in London years ago with other members from the Roc-A-Fella family and the man was so rude. He walked around and behaved like his doo doo didn’t stink. Power, money and notoriety had clearly gone to his head.
Anyway I am a little shocked at this sentence. I didn’t think he would get five long years. It’s actually pretty sad.
How the mighty fall.
