There is no stopping Diane Abbott this week! The woman is on a roll. (LOL).
The Labour MP is is in trouble again after accusing taxi drivers of drving past black customers.
Abbott tweeted,
“Dubious of black people claiming they’ve never experienced racism,” . “Ever tried hailing a taxi I always wonder?”
In response to her tweet the OUTRAGED spokesman for the Licensed Taxi Drivers Association Steve McNamara said:
“This is a typically silly comment by Diane Abbott and deeply unfair. The modern generation of taxi drivers is as diverse as London itself and most of the knowledge schools now have prayer rooms. Her comment is a silly stereotype that harks back to the days of ‘I don’t go south of the river’ and ‘hanging’s too good for them’. It is as outdated and insulting as the stereotype that black people wear woolly hats all the time.”

Oh Steve just stop it! There are taxi drivers who STILL press on the gas and move like grease lightening whenever they spot a black customer (usually male) hailing them down.

Now onto the comment, who is this “spokesman”(who is really a PR person which is really propaganda) to tell me about what I experience as a black man. If I am hailing the cabs and they are not stopping, then THEY ARE NOT STOPPING, regardless of what the propaganda spokesman for the Licensed Taxi Drivers Association is saying.
Black cabs on the whole do not stop for a black man.
On the woolly hat comment, I think he may be talking about balaclavas, though I could be wrong.

I have major issues with taxis but because I cant swipe them with one brush. I just know I dont like taxis especially those awful expensive hackney carriages. It may be bad they dont stop to give you a lift its worst when they dont stop where you want them to so they can rack up more charges

hey that happens here in the states as well. You can’t get a taxi if you’re Black… Unless you’re on the side of town where a lot of Blacks live. And don’t even think about getting a taxi in NYC….not going to happen. I’m really feeling this lady!!! Say it loud sister…. If you’re going to lose your job….go out with a bang!!!!!!!!! Love it! Put it all on blast!!!!
She is right thou, what is the Steve dude ranting about, anyways the truth hurts. I’m female and black my sister and I once got into a black cab on our way back from holiday, the cheek of the driver who happened to be white after driving 5mins said to us, he will drop us at the nearest busstop so we can catch a bus, we refused to get out of the taxi as he shouldnt have picked us up in the first place, maybe he thought we were new in the uk and ghetto , maybe he thought we couldnt afford to pay him, maybe he was just a racist. We wanted him to drop us at home so he could see that black people dont live in ghettos. Should have seen the look on his face when he drove up our drive way.
What annoyed me even more was that the black cab before his was driven by a black man and he refused to pick us up drove past us and picked someone else who was not black. Now you gotta ask yourself if the black taxi man aint letting you in his taxi in the UK the white man most def wont be letting you near his.

This is the problem with white folks and this country, they hate when we tell it as it is. yes RACISM is still here in the UK….alive and doing well thank you very much. White folks can say what the hell they want because its a case of he who feels it knows it. Diane Abbott has said nothing wrong in either of her statements, the first statement “Divide and rule” just look across this big wide world and and see for yourself that anywhere the white man has been there is division and unrest. The taxi statement is so so true and unless you are a black person who has tried hailing a taxi lately then I suggest you shut the hell up!
