The co-founder of popular sound system Rampage/former BBC 1xtra DJ Mike Anthony has criticised legal radio stations aimed at fans of black music.
In an interview with London 360 he said,
It was unsurprising pirate radio has stepped in to fill the gap in the market and that illegal stations “are just as important now as ever before.”
“If you are underserved as a community you will search out what you want to hear,” said Anthony, “I want to listen to the best music and, to be honest, I want to hear it first. That is what the pirate radio stations can give; it gives the community, the people, the fans of that music, a chance to hear the stuff that they love.“They give out local information, and they back and support youth culture locally.”

The radio stations supposedly aimed at fans of black music are just PITIFUL All they play is watered down rubbish and have swiftly replaced the word ‘BLACK’ (which seems to be the forbidden word in UK music circles) with ‘URBAN’.

gwarn mikey!!!!…. say it !! loud!!
This guy is spot on with what he’s stated, this is why they want to lock off the analog signals and switch completely to digital, so that we can be programmed and brainwashed with music that we don’t want to hear and are not interested in. Maximum respect and a big up to all the pirates still holding out from HM Babylon.
