Jermain Defoe with mother Sandra St Helen

The Metro reports that Jermain Defoe’s mother plans to build a nightclub in the basement of a plush Essex mansion.

According to the newspaper the millionaire footballer’s mother Sandra St Helen also plans on including a cards room, an underground swimming pool and giant hot tub. There is even a proposal for a hair salon.

I hope Mama St Helen realises that Jermain won’t be a footballer forever. By the time he reaches 35/36 it’s more or less a wrap and time to hang up those boots. So I hope he has been investing his money wisely.

As for the nightclub, the only people likely to frequent the venue will be former Big Brother busty/blond rejects, wannabe WAGS, Jermain’s Tottenham team mates, and random promoters, event organisers, DJs and “Urban” artists who all think their the business because they sometimes rub shoulders with a few famous high level faces from across the pond, and premiership footballers.
