Rapper and convicted sex offender Mystikal has been released from prison after serving a six year sentence.
In 2004, the rapper was sentenced to six years in prison after pleading guilty to forcing his hairstylist to perform sex acts (which included oral sex and sodomy). He also admitted to extortion. The rapper and two bodyguards forced the woman to perform various sexual acts, and accused her of stealing $80,000 in cheques. Mystikal initially denied the assault, but confessed after a videotape of the crime was found at his home. Bodyguards Leland “Pokie” Ellis and Vercy “V” Carter also pled guilty to sexual battery.
In his first interview with New Orleans Q93 FM after being released (he doesn’t waste time does he?) Mystikal said,
“Man it’s been a long time!” Mystikal says, adding that he kept his sanity in prison because of his religious faith. “It had to be God,” he said. “I couldn’t have done that. Going through it? It was tough. He had His arms wrapped around me tight.”
