The ‘God MC’ Rakim will finally release his long-awaited new album Seventh Seal on the 23rd November.
Guest artists featured on the album include Busta Rhymes, Jadakiss, Maino, Styles P, and Rakim’s daughter Destiny Griffin.
I listened to the album last night and Rakim is still a master lyricist. In my humble opinion that will NEVER change.
When I hear him rap it takes me back to a time when only the skilled and talented ruled the world of Hip Hop.
Awww…those were the days…..
The Seventh Seal is a good album and Rakim’s die hard fans will be pleased, but I would have regarded it as being an instant classic if the overall production had been stronger and complemented Rakim’s effortless flow/top class lyricism. If his business relationship with Dr Dre had survived then I believe that this would have happened.
However I do recommend that you all check out the album when it drops.

I had hoped that his production would have been stellar, but it would seem that it’s just so-so.
I’ll cop it anyway, just to support one of the best rappers the world has ever seen.

I have peeped some snippets of this and I tell you Rakim will ALWAYS be in my top 5 Hip Hop lyricists! his flow is timeless! he was the 1st rapper I heard rap and “Paid in full” was the song!
As for the the 7th Seal title, if you always take things literally and you are a Christian then don’t listen to this album. Go and read Revelations or something and leave this Album alone. This is the problem with certain people taking things literally. It’s RAP not a sermon from a Pastor on Sunday. LOL!

Just heard this album. Its the best Rap Album I’ve heard this year.
Rakim’s word play is super tight as usual, had to rewind a few times on some tracks to catch the mets. I like the beats too its a breath of fresh air, this will def keep me bopping on the long journeys for the minute.

The Seventh Seal is definitely a great album which is not that surprising though. He’s been in top 10 in all charts I’ve seen about all time hip hop artists. It is like the the god of hip-hop is back. And the thing I like most is that almost all the songs in the album are good. I mentioned that because most of the other artists release shit albums built around a couple of good singles. Thanks a lot for the review!
