The video to Jay-Z’s new single Run This Town featuring Rhianna and Kanye West premiered on MTV worldwide today. I just watched the video and the amount of hype being generated by Jay’s label and MTV leading up to the premiere was in my humble opinion – UNNECESSARY! Run This Town isn’t particularly spectacular and the warrior/Armageddon theme that runs through the video isn’t exactly original. So why all the fuss, anticipation and countless teasers? Via BBC News New world 800m champion Caster Semenya has been asked to take a gender test, according to athletics’ governing body. The International Association of Athletics Federations says it demanded the test three weeks ago amid fears she should not be able to run as a woman. IAAF spokesman Nick Davies said the “extremely complex, difficult” test results were not due for several weeks. Michael Jackson’s doctor, Dr Conrad Murray has released a video thanking the public for their support. Murray is currently under police investigation and has been accused of causing Jackson’s death. Well that was odd! Rest In Peace Michael.

Kerry Katona has been dropped as the face of supermarket chain Iceland following allegations that she took cocaine. The News Of The World published photographs and video footage of the 28-year-old mother allegedly showing her snorting the class A drug in her home in Wilmslow, Cheshire. 10 year old Stella Akanbi Via BBC News Police searching for a 10-year-old girl who disappeared in the sea off an Essex beach believe they have found her body. Stella Akanbi, from Milton Keynes, had been playing with a friend in the sea in Clacton on Sunday afternoon when they got into trouble. Usain Bolt of Jamaica shattered his own world record in the 100 meters dash on Sunday with a time of 9.58 seconds at the World Championships in Berlin. Bolt’s record was 11 tenths of a second faster than his previous world record of 9.69 seconds, which he set at last year’s Beijing Olympics.
