The X Factor’s Rachel Hylton upset fans by making a gangster-style gun salute on the show.
Angry fans complained to ITV and TV watchdog Ofcom after seeing Rachel, 26, point her fingers at rival Daniel Evans when they were revealed to be in the sing-off against each other on the live results show on Saturday night.
A source told the Daily Mirror: “Some viewers see this as Rachel’s way of condoning gun use.
“She knew what she was doing and knew the cameras were watching so it was pretty stupid, especially given her background. Judging from this backlash, I hope she has learnt her lesson and won’t do this kind of thing again.”
Ofcom confirmed it will investigate a number of complaints.
ITV have also received around 50 complaints.
A spokesperson for The X Factor said: “We’ve had contestants use that sign on the show every single year. It’s a street slang.
“Rachel meant no offence by it.” Source
I haven’t really bothered to watch much of this years X-Factor, but when I have managed to catch it on the odd occasion, while channel surfing, it’s usually when Rachel’s on.
Rachel can sing and I wish her the best of luck. BUT she chats too damn much (which could be her downfall) and seems to have a bit of a big head.
Just take it down a notch Rachel and hold back on the celebratory bashment routines (e.g whining your waist like Elephant Man just stepped in to the room)

i must say that i agree with you. people have way too much time on their hand. instead of commenting on her immense talent. Britain is about bringing people down rather than uplifting. I wish that could stop as there is so much good talent out there. just give them encouragement rather than discouragement.
