Jade Goody spoke live on television today for the first time since being diagnosed with cervical cancer.
The reality star revealed doctors initially gave her the all clear, and sent her away with just pain killers for period pain.
Jade was told of her cancer diagnosis while in the Indian Big Brother house last month, but now claims she wasn’t aware the conversation was being filmed.
She told GMTV that her symptoms were initially dismissed: ‘I was in hospital for a week, and they didn’t do anything because they didn’t know what it was, even though it was the fourth time I had been there for the same reason.
‘They did a belly scan and everything was fine, even my blood, so they said to me it was either a bad period or stress.
‘In the end I began to feel really frustrated, like they were insulting my intelligence, I thought they thought I was being a hypochondriac and lying about it.
‘I made a conscious effort to tell them that I was going away for a long period of time and they wouldn’t be able to get in touch, and would that be OK. They said I was fine and I was fit and healthy.’
But Jade later received the bombshell news in the Diary Room of the Indian version of the reality show that she had cancer, and found out that it had spread. Continue Reading…

I read this yesterday night and thought “oh Jade, why did it have to be you”
I know. It’s really sad.

don’t get me wrong, I do like Jade (NO, not in that way)… but she’s just Jade, what u see is what u get, she made a decent lively of being niave and gullible and foolish, but she is a likeable person to me, if that went down without her knowing [big brother india filming her conversation] then thats abit of a liberty, but then should they really be sympathetic, she didn’t show much love to Shilpa did she… (Just thinking from there point)

I have every sympathy, not only for Jade who is frightened for her life, but also for all her family. Friends and family are also affected by a diagnosis of cancer and in some ways find it even harder. I encourage Jade’s family to get whatever support they need (preferably out of the media spotlight) and then they will be more able to support her through her treatment and recovery.

I dunno man, cancer is one of those tragic illnesses that unfortunately has good press.
Yeah, I’ve said it. It’s like, a kind of glamorised suffering and is the one tragedy that seems to be discussed at great length as if this was the only terminal illness that man can suffer.
So even though we can all empathise quite sincerely for anyone in this predicament, the media has over the years made me switch over when I see yet another middle class or famous person in remission on GMTV with a headscarf talking about their struggles.
It’s almost like a disease of class when watching the media take on it.
The poor get something less dignified like throat cancer cos we’re all smoking illiterate scum.
Please understand that I’m talking only about the media subliminal interpretation of these instances, and am in no way taking a crack at the people who suffer from any illness.
ok enough ….

that jade had previuosly suffered a media blackout .. nobody wanted to know….
nobody wanted to be associated to her financially or socially
.. even when it was announced that she was going into the indian big brother .. there was no sigh of relief….
there was no public clapping of hands…
she was no longer of interest!!!!
where was all these people before she was PUBLICLY INFORMED
nowhere to be seen…
so now she has cancer allegedly
everybody forgotten that she was a waste product of RECENT .. IN THE UK media EYES!!
( i’m not saying it we shouldnt feel sorry for her if she has cancer.. but i am saying these people will do anything to put her back in the publics hearts)and you all know that !!!!
