UK MUSIC: WRETCH 32 – BORN WINNER

‘Born Winner’ is taken from Wretch’s new mixtape ‘Wretch32.com’. Erm… “Wizzy Wow” ?????? Anyway…. Lyrical Content and Flow –  Wretch is OK. I’ve heard a lot worse. Production – It’s decent. I like the beat. Image – UK male artists (rappers in particular) seriously need to develop close business relationships with fashion houses, stylists, barbers and nutritionists. Your thoughts please. Hit or Miss?

UK MUSIC: SABRINA WASHINGTON – OMG (OH MY GOSH)

Former Mis-Teeq front woman Sabrina Washington is back on the music scene with her debut single OMG (Oh My Gosh). I think Sabrina looks great in the video, but the person responsible for the entire look of the video and it’s concept doesn’t seem to have an original bone in his/her body. As for OMG… I love a good Pop track but sadly this isn’t one. Sabrina is actually a strong vocalist who should be showing off her abilities on a well produced/superior track.  OMG will be officially released on the []

UK MUSIC NEWS: POP SINGER DAISY DARES YOU DENIES DISLIKING GRIME MUSIC

Several weeks ago I posted the news that 16 year old Pop singer Daisy Dares You had admitted to not being a fan of Grime music. Click here to read if you missed it.   I originally spotted the story over at Digital Spy, and it caught my attention because young Daisy here had “allegedly” told BBC Newsbeat that she wasn’t a fan of the genre, but still collaborated with Chipmunk (who was once considered Grime… I’m not sure if he still is now) on her debut single Number One Enemy.   It  sounded as if she/the label had just used Chippy to guarantee a []

UK MUSIC: CADET – ‘REALISE’

Rapper Cadet is a new artist….well I’d never heard of him up until now, so he is news to me. The track ‘Realise’ in my opinion has good ‘mainstream’ potential. It might actually make the BBC Radio 1 playlist. Your thoughts please. Hit or Miss?

SINGER MARSHA AMBROSIUS SIGNS WITH J RECORDS

Soul Culture reports that UK songstress Marsha Ambrosius has signed a new deal with Sony/BMG distributed label J Records. The singer was previously signed to Dr Dre’s Aftermath label.   Congratulations Marsha. I hope it works out for her over at J Records and she finally manages to release her long-awaited debut album.

MYSTRO – 2009 UK RAP-UP

Rapper Mystro gives us a run down of events that took place within the world of UK entertainment during 2009. I am annoyed! How come Mad News didn’t get a shout out on this track! That is a MAJOR fail Mystro! (ha ha ha!) In the words of Larry David (Curb Your Enthusiasm) That was “Pretty good”.

UK MUSIC: TRIBAL MAGZ – ‘TRIBAL MAN SKANK’

This is the official music video for Tribal Magz’s electro remake of his UK Funky House club hit ‘Tribal Man Skank’, which will drop on the 25th January. I was all prepared to hate this, but you know what? It’s not bad. It’s catchy. It will become a mainstream hit. The video isn’t bad either. Your thoughts please. Hit or Miss?
