ROC Nation’s K Koke has been a ‘music news’ item since he revealed via Twitter last week that he has now parted company with his label RCA. But according to the rapper he is still working with Jay Z’s ROC Nation. (CLICK HERE to read if you missed it). When I posted the news, as usual my Mad News readers did not hold back and aired their views on K Koke (CLICK HERE to read the comments section) and neither did So Solid’s […]
In 2009 Mercury Award winner Speech Debelle left her record label Big Dada under a cloud and blamed them for her disappointing debut album sales. At the time she told 6 Music that sales of Speech Therapy suffered because of poor distribution by Big Dada records. Prior to her win, the album had sold around 3,000 copies with sales increasing to just below 10,000.”The Mercury Prize was on Tuesday, and on Friday there were no more physical albums in the shops. I wasn’t disappointed […]
Speech Debelle is back with the impressive new single Blaze Up A Fire featuring Roots Manuva and Realism. In a statement Mercury Music Prize winner (2009) Speech said, “I wrote this track months ago for my second album, and it wasn’t due for release until next year. But after the events of last week I want to give it away right now.” …. Your thoughts please. Hit or Miss?
For those who care…. it’s Mercury Prize time again folks! Singer Corrine Bailey Rae and Dizzie Rascal have both received Mercury Prize nominations, alongside “Modfather’ Paul Weller (he seems so up himself) and Biffy Cyflo (who?). Last year Speech Debelle took home the Mercury Prize and then promptly disappeared after THIS embarrassing incident. *Note: A Mercury win is supposed to boost sales and the artist’s profile. But that didn’t happen in Speech’s case. * Then she later quit her label blaming them for her poor album sales. According to Digital Spy, to date her winning […]

I have a sneaking suspicion that Speech and her hype woman were both drunk. So unprofessional. She has a lot to learn. I’ve been informed that Speech is desperate to tell her side of the story […]
