UK SHORT FILM: ‘BLUD’ REVIEW

On Thursday 8th March I attended the premier of the short film BLUD written by rapper, actor and director Fredi ‘Kruga’ Nwaka. The film is described as an Urban thriller, BLUD combines the gritty unpredictable under world with that of the real world and brings you a breath-taking journey into the supernatural. Every UK urban project that is released these days features a run down council estate, feral youth,  drug dealing and violence. BLUD goes down this same tried and tested road []

UK COMEDY: MEET THE ADEBANJO’S – SHORT REVIEW

On the 26th June the first episode of the highly anticipated British-Nigerian sitcom Meet The Adebanjo’s debuted online at midnight. First let me say that the team behind this sitcom have worked extremely hard to get to this point so congratulations to them. Now on to my thoughts….. In the first episode viewers were introduced to the mother (Gladys), bumbling tight-fisted father (Bayo), pre-teen son (Toby) who wants to be a ‘player’ and thinks he’s a bit of a ‘ladies man’, annoying []

VIDEO: REMEL LONDON – RIP THE RUNWAY UK REVIEW

Talented TV/radio presenter and blogger Remel London attended the highly anticipated event Rip The Runway UK, which took place this past weekend at the Broadway Theatre in Catford (London). When Remel first uploaded her video review online the organisers (who need to hear the truth in order to learn from their mistakes) took offence to her honest critique and asked her to remove the video, so she obliged. But this decision didn’t sit well with Remel and after some thought she re-posted []

UK FILM: ANUVAHOOD REVIEW

Over a year ago actor/writer/director Adam Deacon tweeted that he was working diligently on his first film script (Anuvahood) and I was instantly intrigued. What sort of script would the star of Kidulthood and Adulthood produce, and more importantly would the end result just end up going straight to DVD? Long before the cast and crew had been hired and long before the director screamed “QUIET ON SET PLEASE! ACTION!” Deacon’s supporters online were already hyping up Anuvahood like it was the []

UK FILM: 4.3.2.1 REVIEW

I recently attended the press screening for the highly anticipated new British film 4.3.2.1, starring Noel Clarke, Emma Roberts, Adam Deacon, Tasmin Egerton, Shanika Warren-Markland and Ophelia Lovibond. 4.3.2.1 follows the lives of four best friends who become involved in a major diamond heist. A much put upon and harassed Joanne (Emma Roberts) works shifts in a 24 hour supermarket. A job she clearly despises and you get the impression that she doesn’t have much of a social life. Kerrys (Shanika Warren-Markland) is a strong, outspoken, []

RIHANNA GIG REVIEW – THE O2 BRIXTON ACADEMY (LONDON)

Last night (November 16th) I attended Rihanna’s highly anticipated show at London’s O2 Brixton Academy in association with Nokia. The event was billed as being a private gig (invite only) that was due to be hosted at a private location. I initially thought that it would be taking place in a sophisticated dark intimate setting in some trendy night club. But I almost choked on my D&G Grape Soda when I heard the words “Brixton Academy”.    “Private” and “invite only” were both []
