Via BBC News Mark Duggan, whose death sparked riots in England in 2011, was lawfully killed by police, an inquest jury has concluded by a majority of 8 to 2. The 29-year-old was shot dead by armed officers in August 2011 in Tottenham, north London. Actor James Avery who played Phillip Banks (‘uncle Phil’) in the hit sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bell Air has died. He was 65 years old. Avery’s publicist told Sky News he died from complications following open-heart surgery in Glendale, California, on Tuesday afternoon. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Barbara, his mother, Florence Avery, and his step-son, Kevin Waters. Rest In Peace James Avery.

ITV news reports the victim of a fatal nightclub shooting in London’s West End has been named as Hassan Isman Omer. The 31 year old man from Poplar was shot at a private function inside the Avalon nightclub on Shaftesbury Avenue in the early hours of Thursday morning. Hassan suffered multiple gunshot wounds and later died in hospital. Two men, aged 31 and 34, arrested on suspicion of murder have been bailed until February, as inquiries continue. The Fast & Furious star was a passenger in a Porsche sports car driven by a friend – who also died – when it crashed north of Los Angeles.
