RECORD LABEL DECIDES TO SUE JILL SCOTT

Jill Scott is in hot water with her former record label. The singer apparently just upped and left Hidden Beach Records but is still contractually required to deliver three more albums. Via The Hollywood Reporter The lawsuit is unusually detailed in its description of the small label’s close relationship with Scott. She clearly was the center of attention for McKeever. The complaint alleges he paid her million-dollar advances when he wasn’t required to, allowed her to keep merchandising revenue, paid $450,000 to fund a concert DVD []

This made me laugh out loud today! Via Digital Spy Daisy Dares You has admitted that she is not a fan of grime music, despite teaming up with Chipmunk on her debut single Number One Enemy. The 16-year-old, real name Daisy Coburn, claimed that the collaboration would benefit from Chipmunk’s popularity. “It’s good for the song because it’s given it an instant. MTV TO SHOW HAITI BENEFIT CONCERT IN THE UK

Via BBC News George Clooney’s star-studded benefit show for the victims of the Haiti earthquake will be shown on MTV in the UK, the network has announced. Featuring performances from Justin Timberlake and Alicia Keys, the two-hour telethon will be screened live from 0100 GMT on Saturday, 23 January. It will then be repeated at 0900 GMT on Saturday morning. Funds raised will go to Oxfam America, Red Cross, Unicef, Partners in Health and the Yele Haiti Foundation.
