Well.. well… well… what has brought this on Hollyoaks casting team and producers? To my knowledge the last time Hollyoaks cast a black actress was back in 1995 when the drama first aired. Anyway…. UK TV NEWS: NEW BRITISH-NIGERIAN CHARACTER SET TO JOIN EASTENDERS

Actress Modupe Adeyeye will make her debut on BBC soap Eastenders this coming Tuesday playing Faith Olubunmi, the younger sister of Merci Olubunmi (played by Bunmi Mojekwu) who was written out of the show earlier this year. The newcomer will also appear in EastEnders online spin-off E20. Congratulations Modupe – good luck. And let’s just hope there isn’t another random deportation storyline in the works.
