Like I stated on here some time ago, as soon as Mariah changed her style of music to Hip Hop/R&B/bubble gum R&B her vocals started to take a turn for the worst around. Towards the end of this video its just noise. And that performance with the late great Pavarotti.. what was that??? I see what they were trying to do there, but it didn’t work. Three words spring to mind when it comes to Mariah and Nick – publicity seeking whores. As for the track ‘Bye Bye’, well it’s typical Mariah. Simple production, vocals adapted to suit the production – but it’s a grower.
Why he felt the need to jump on this track a longside Mariah is beyond me. The orignal sounds weak and this doesn’t sound any better. A ‘Touch My Body’ remix is something we could have all done without. Plus a male vocalist singing over this saccrine sweet/empty/immature/R&B bubblegum production just sounds odd.
