USAIN BOLT SHATTERS 100 METRE WORLD RECORD IN 9.58 SECONDS

Usain Bolt of Jamaica shattered his own world record in the 100 meters dash on Sunday with a time of 9.58 seconds at the World Championships in Berlin. Bolt’s record was 11 tenths of a second faster than his previous world record of 9.69 seconds, which he set at last year’s Beijing Olympics. REGGAE SINGER LUCIANO CHARGED WITH HARBOURING A FUGITIVE

Via BBC News Reggae singer Luciano has been charged with harbouring a fugitive who shot and wounded three police officers, Jamaican police have said. Police Superintendent McArthur Sutherland said the 44-year-old – real name Jepther McClymont – was charged and released after posting bail. The stand-off last week ended with the fugitive gunman, Andrew Senior, being  killed at Luciano’s home in Kingston. Two of the injured officers are still being treated in hospital. Oh dear….smh….

Photo Source The Jamaican Broadcasting Commission has banned all sexually explicit music, and music that depicts violence, from the country’s airwaves. The ban went into effect on Feb. 6. It covers all songs meant to promote the act of “daggering,” a dance move that simulates sexual intercourse. The ban includes music played on both radio and television. GAY rights activists have accused the Metropolitian police of supporting homophobia by allowing Jamaican reggae star Bounty Killer to perform in London. Bounty Killer, real name Rodney Pryce, has been allowed by the Met Police to play at the Stratford Rex on Saturday, even though some of his songs call for gay people to be murdered.
