Before I clicked on play I just thought that On A Level, the new single from Ghetts, would be the same old mediocrity that I have come to expect from the UK’s rap/grime “elite”, but I was pleasantly surprised. Check Dionne Bromfield’s new single Ouch featuring rapper Mz Bratt, taken from up and coming “urban” horror flick Demons Never Die soundtrack. [Thanks Noir] …. I like Dionne, she’s a strong vocalist and the song isn’t bad. However the song could have done without the bars. Nothing against Mz Bratt but I have said it before and I will say it again not every UK “Urban” song needs to feature a rapper. It’s just not necessary. Your thoughts please. Hit or Miss?

Check rapper Ikes’ single video/single Tailormade taken from his mixtape ‘The Intermission’, a collaboration with US DJ, Infamous, which was released late last year. …………………………….. I don’t think this single has the potential to become a major hit, but it’s not bad. The video – It’s decent enough and you can see some thought went in to making it. It also looks slick and the woman who plays his love interest is very attractive. Your thoughts please. Hit or Miss?
British actor Idris Elba aka Driis has turned his attention to music again. The single Private Garden is produced by 9th Wonder. Via Soul Culture Private Garden isn’t a terrible single and it’s well produced, but I’ve said this before and I will say it again Idris should stick to what he is really good at – ACTING!
