First of all let me thank Social Writers Blog for bringing singer/songwriter Taley Riley to my attention, who apparently co-wrote Chipmunk’s number 1 classic Oopsy Daisy. Humanoid is Taley’s debut single and I’m sorry but Taley is just a Taio Cruz clone. His image.. his sound.. that’s Taio! But the track is kind of catchy. Your thoughts please. Hit or Miss?
Check out British Hip Hop duo Angha and their debut single For You, featuring Dele. For You is a well produced track, but it sounds very familiar, and has that late 90s / early noughties American R&B/Hip Hop saccharine sweat fusion going on. When I first spotted this promo shot of Alexandra on the front cover of The Daily Mirror several days ago I thought it was Ciara. Anyway…. X-Factor winner Alexandra Burke’s debut single Bad Boys premiered on Chris Moyles’ BBC Radio 1 breakfast show today and it’s what I expected – poppy and geared towards the mainstream pre-teen /teen market. This is former Eurovision contestant Jade Ewen’s debut single ‘My Man’. ‘My Man’ sounds suspiciously familiar, but it’s an OK uptempo mainstream track and should do well. I wish Jade the best of luck with it. Your thoughts please. Hit or Miss?
