A Florida judge has declared a mistrial for the Jamaican reggae star Buju Banton, who was accused of conspiring to buy cocaine from an undercover police officer last year. U.S. District Judge James Moody declared a mistrial after the 12-person jury sent him a second note on Monday saying they couldn’t reach a verdict. REGGAE STAR BUJU BANTON PLEADS ‘NOT GUILTY’ TO DRUG CHARGE
The BBC News website reports that reggae star Buju Banton has pleaded not guilty to a drug charge in a court in Florida. Banton was charged with conspiring to buy more than five kilograms of cocaine from an undercover law enforcement officer in December 2009.
