UK artist Pound Sterling reminds me of 50 Cent (circa 2003 image) and this video /track is just the UK version of Fiddy’s ‘I Get Money’. Hmmmm.. the production isn’t bad. Do you know what? Pound Sterling, the track, the tired video concept, the whole ‘let’s pretend I’m a rich American rapper’ vibe, and the Pound Sterling sign tatooed on his left peck, I find it all highly amusing! 13 year old Dionne Bromfield sang live last night on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ with her “godmother” Amy Winehouse singing backing vocals. Obviously Dionne’s connection to Amy has opened many doors for her ( hanging out in nightclubs with Amy, signed to a major label, appearing on Strictly etc), but the girl can sing. I was impressed. Via BBC News Boyzone singer Stephen Gately has died suddenly at the age of 33 while on holiday in Majorca. Spanish police said he died on Saturday and that there were no signs of suspicious circumstances. But the cause of death is not yet known. Gately was on holiday with his long-term partner Andy Cowles. His bandmates said they were “completely devastated” and are now travelling to Majorca. Via BBC News US President Barack Obama has won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize. The Nobel Committee said he was awarded it for “his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and co-operation between peoples”. The committee highlighted Mr Obama’s efforts to strengthen international bodies and promote nuclear disarmament. There were a record 205 nominations for this year’s prize. WOMAN CAUGHT AT AIRPORT WEARING HEROIN LEGWARMERS
Via Forbez DVD A drug mule was caught with thousands of dollars worth of heroin around her legs at Dulles International Airport Sunday, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection. A CBP K-9 unit caught a whiff of 22-year-old Anna Sprauve’s legs at about 2 a.m. A search revealed packets of heroin taped to each of her legs and four packets in her backpack, according to CBP. JUDGE BANS MAN FROM RIDING AROUND NEIGHBOURHOOD IN JUST A THONG
Lord help us all….. A Tallahassee man known for riding his bike in a thong has avoided prosecution for reportedly exposing himself and agreed to cover up in the future. A Leon County judge signed off on 55-year-old Richard Irby’s deferred prosecution agreement Monday. Irby must not wear the thong in public anymore and avoid other legal problems for three months.
