Soul Culture reports that UK songstress Marsha Ambrosius has signed a new deal with Sony/BMG distributed label J Records. The singer was previously signed to Dr Dre’s Aftermath label. Congratulations Marsha. I hope it works out for her over at J Records and she finally manages to release her long-awaited debut album.

The BBC News website reports that reggae star Buju Banton has pleaded not guilty to a drug charge in a court in Florida. Banton was charged with conspiring to buy more than five kilograms of cocaine from an undercover law enforcement officer in December 2009.

Digital Spy reports that producer/artist Pharrell Williams will deliver a keynote speech at the MidemNet conference in Cannes, France. Williams will discuss the music industry and it’s future, which at this very point in time isn’t looking too bright! I wonder if he plans on writing the speech himself……

Via BBC News Jonathan Ross has announced he is leaving the BBC, after 13 years working for the corporation. Ross, 49, who is one of the BBC’s highest paid stars, said in a statement he had decided not to renegotiate his contract when it ends in July. I haven’t watched the film ‘Precious’ yet, so to those who have seen the film I want to know this, is Mariah’s performance in the film really that good??? Anyway the singer picked up the Breakthrough Performance award for her role as a social worker in the film, at the Palm Springs International Film Festival last night (January 5th). Mariah was completely off her face…..
